Announcing Curio 3.0

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

With great fanfare we are proud to announce the release of Curio 3.0!

Our marketing blurb says it best: "Curio 3.0 features a new Project Center for one-click access to your categorized projects; an advanced Search Bar for fast, easy-to-use searching on text, tags, ratings, flags, asset types, and dates; support for searching asset contents; and an interactive full-screen presentation mode."

Plus tons and tons more!

Basically it's a big release with lots of yummy features. More details can be found on the Curio home page:

For those that love the nitty-gritty I invite you to check out the very detailed release notes:

  • This sounds really great!
I bought curio pro last october, and it has become an important part of my workflow. There are a few things that bugged me, and I had hoped to see them addressed in a 2.5 update...yes, a free one.
I certainly did not expect a major point update so soon. 2.4.3 to 3.0? What the heck?
I saw no price on the update 2.4.3 > 3.0. Did I miss something? According to your policy it is a paid upgrade - as a designer, I would expect a splash "Upgrade for only X.99!" placed prominently. Whats up?

  • I second bongo prophet's comment about no upgrade price. I use Curio every day. It's a fantastic app I and welcome the upgrade, but I haven't seen any mention of universal binary or any plans for such a realease. It's difficult to consider upgrading given these two omissions.

  • Hey gang - the pricing is in the store. Call me crazy, but that is the first placed I looked and there it was - listed under Upgrades. It is a very modest price, in my opinion, and certainly a LOT less than many of the alternative apps that one would have to cobble together to try and go a different route.

As for a Universal binary, I do second that comment. I am sure the Zengobi guys, who have the best support in the world (I get almost instant responses to questions) by the way, will have something on that very soon, but a more definitive statement would be nice.

  • Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments! As rawnc mentioned, all pricing information is listed in our Kagi store.

Our download page has a link (albeit a small link) to our Intel support page. We do plan to add universal binary support for our 3.0 products as a free upgrade. This page has the details:

    Intel Support

Once again, thanks for your comments. Response to the 3.0 rollout has been overwhelming so we're very excited!

  • The new 3.0 is truly amazing! So many cool and useful things! Hats off to you guys.

However, I still want to be able to drag and drop items from an idea space into the Organizer onto another idea space!

  • Feature request:

I'd like to save whole idea spaces into the Library. That way we can create forms and guidelines to standardize our process, and use them easily.

    Thanks!
