Announcing Curio 4
Tuesday, June 26, 2007

It's alive!
Yes, after a year of hard work, we're proud to announce the immediate availability of Curio 4.
The big features? Mind mapping of course, updated slick looking customizable UI with integrated shelf, the super-cool Snippets service with new print-to-Curio functionality, resource and date/duration assignments, fantastic advanced search, global tag sets, Flashlight, ...
Plus, gobs and gobs of other amazing features. Roughly a zillion new features. Check out the What's New page for all the juicy details.
Oh, and this release includes a real manual. That's right, choose Curio Help under the Help menu within Curio and you'll see a 73 page PDF spring before your eyes. It's a sight to behold.
I hope everyone will be thrilled. We're certainly very proud of this release.

Congratulations! from Japan.
I wait this new new release.
So, I visit your online store.
But, "Pro to Pro" is 69 USD, "Home to Pro" is 50 USD.
Why? It's just mistake?
Anyway I wii upgrade to 4Pro.
Thank you.

First, thank you thank you thank you to everyone out there. We have been inundated with many wonderful emails. We sincerely appreciate all the feedback!
Next, I wanted to clarify the pricing question brought up by the person from Japan. Upgrading to Pro 4 from an older Pro (like Pro 3) is $69. Upgrading to Pro 4 from Home 4 is just $50, but that's simply an edition upgrade since they are already on version 4.

Ha Ha ... I had a question about Snippets ... which I think is one of the coolest new features of Curio 4. But I just figured it out (just goes to show what an awesome job you guys did).
I was wondering how to "copy" a Snippet out of the Shelf, so it doesn't just disappear. Because I'm used to "option" dragging to copy items in other programs, I tried it, and it works. Fantastic!
Thanks to all the curio team. Very impressive update!
I'll be using my full demo time ... but you can count on my $$ coming soon for another upgrade version of PRO.

I'm suprised that I haven't seen Curio 4 listed at Versiontracker.com.
A lot of people use VT ... might help get the word out.
Cheers!

Curio Cudos! I see an amazing potential for integration with Leopard features (at least the 10 we know of) come October!
Any Curio connection iPhone fun planned via Safari?

1st time user. Amazing program. Curio + Scrivener combo is all you need for any serious creative/research writer. But I do have to mention: the program crashed on me today. I was trying to play w/ the program, was making a list. I pressed 'tab' after typing in the 1st item and the program went crazy - the spinning rainbow wheel... wondering what I did wrong.

Will the person that experienced the crash above please write us at support@zengobi.com? We'll fix that crash issue asap!

Wow, thank you. I haven't run Curio for a while but really wanted to mindmap and plan something. I started up Curio and was prompted about the new update..... with mindmapping!! :)
Thank you. I really like the % complete on items too.

ok never mind the comment above. It's on the front page.

A while back I mentioned to you guys how great it'd be to have some sort of forums here, somewhere where users could share practices, templates, files, etc. Any development on that front?

We are still very interested in forums. It's simply a matter of resources. But it's something we're definitely still exploring.

Snippets compatable programs?
Are there programs that do not work with Snippets. I have no option to use them with Firefox, or Quark ... so far.
Are known non-compatable programs listed anywhere? It would be nice to know.

Services are mainly available for Cocoa applications although I think Carbon apps can do som extra works to support them. I'm not sure what Firefox is written in. I bet Quark is Carbon. Ditto Word. Those three don't appear to support Services. However, Finder and Safari and most applications from Apple, plus many, many other Mac OS X applications out there support Services.

Two little suggestions with the mind-mapping:
Have some form of moveability to the positions - it would be nice to have the option of manually tweaking
Have each item able to connect an arrow too. I might want to show a relationship between two items.

To Anonymous re mind mapping:
I second your desire to draw arrows between bits (and in lists also).
In the meantime, I use the pencil scribble tool -- very flexible, but has to be redrawn if something moves.

I've been messing around a bit in Curio. Is there a forum to ask questions, or is this the place to do it?

Actually, just send email to support@zengobi.com and we'll answer your questions as best we can.
