Lion: Curio Core MAS special!

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Lion's officially out and it's fantastic. I've been using it since the first dev build and love all the new features. Well, I have to admit that it took me a few days to get used to the reverse mouse scrolling, but now I love it. :-)

Curio 7.4.2 works great on Lion so visit the Mac App Store to download Lion today!

And to celebrate Lion's release, we're offering our Curio Core product at the Mac App Store for 50% off. That's just $19.99USD which is a remarkably low price. But act quickly as this is only for a limited time. Buy it today!

(Don't forget: you can always crossgrade from Core to Standard or Pro if you'd like more power-user features, see our online store for details.)

  • Will we see a true Lion compatible fullscreen mode in Curio Standard?

  • The current full screen works fine but doesn't hook in with the native Lion call. That requires a rewrite of portions of Curio and will need to wait for Curio 8 coming out early 2012.

  • Look forward to your summer curio discount special this year! Can't wait to upgrade to pro! Hopefully you will give those who get 7.4 this summer a free upgrade to 8.0 too if it's not released before you run your usual summer promotion. Yippie!

  • I'm intrigued, I'm currently using the 15 day trial, but am curious -- how long is the 19.99 sale at the app store last? I'd like to know how much of the trial I can experiment with to make my decision, but still be eligible for the sale ...!

    Thanks! Great program so far!

  • The plan is to keep it running through this coming Wednesday.

  • So if I own a copy of Curio Pro I'll should wait till next year for a full compatible version of the software I use the most on my mac? I know it's a lot of work, but just doesn't feel right.

Are there any plans of incorporating the "versions" feature?
Full screen mode would be great!

    Thanks!

  • Don't worry: Curio 7 is perfectly compatible with Lion. And Curio 7 Pro includes its own autosave and fullscreen features.

Curio 8 is a major rewrite of Curio. It will be Lion-only thus ditching 10.5, 10.6, and PowerPC support. We'll be able to switch to Lion's native implementation of autosave (and Versions) and fullscreen. Plus lots and lots of other goodies.

  • I just upgraded to Curio 7 Pro from an older version, expecting Lion-esque features. But I came here to find that you haven't yet implemented them. Will you be offering a free upgrade path to Curio 8 for those who purchased Curio 7 after Lion came out?

  • Curio 8 is a major, major upgrade over Curio 7. It will require the purchase of a discounted upgrade license.

As a note, Curio 8 will not support Lion's Versions feature based on information documented here:
    http://www.zengobi.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=4918

However, Curio 8 does replace Curio's custom autosave and full screen with Lion's implementations.
